A series of new photos from the set of Game of Thrones season 5 show that the set is full of the stuff that’s important to getting to the show’s epic finale.
The new photos, taken by photographer Adam F. Levine, show a variety of materials used to build the sets for the show, from stone, wood, and concrete to glass, metal, and wood.
“They’re basically like a big piece of art that we’re building on the set,” Levine told Mashable.
“We’ve used a lot of different materials to build all the sets.
It’s not just the wood.”
We’re getting closer to seeing how the sets will change in season 5.
“I love that we get to see some of the wood we’ve seen used in previous seasons.
It seems like it’s the same wood we saw on the exterior of the walls of Jon Snow’s tower.
I think it’s a great piece of wood.”
It’s hard to imagine a season with the show ending without the Tower of Joy, which is the iconic symbol of the show.
Levine told us that the wood used for the Tower is the same material used to make the glass on the outside of the building.
“It’s a little bit of a surprise because it’s been used on the show for so long, but it’s great to finally see it used in a different way.”
The wood used to construct the Tower’s walls was sourced from the British company, Stirling Wood, which also makes a wooden fence, an ornamental tree, and a set of stilts used to float the characters around the show in a boat.
We’ve seen a few new sets built using these materials in the past, but this is the first time we’ve been able to see them all.
