NEW YORK — A $25 million project to transform a 17th-century church into a LEGO museum is drawing praise from the building materials community.
The project is being spearheaded by the LEGO Group, which says the $25.5 million LEGO building materials museum will be “one of the largest museums of its kind in the world.”
The building materials company is partnering with the New York Public Library and the Museum of Modern Art to transform the old New York State Public Library into a Lego building museum that will include a space dedicated to LEGO creations.
In addition to the LEGO Museum, the renovation will include the New Jersey Museum of Art, the New Haven Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Brooklyn Museum of the American Renaissance.
The building materials project is still in its early stages, but the project is expected to be completed by the end of 2020.
