NFL Players will donate $100,000 of their salary to renovate the Oeg Arena and will donate 50 percent of their net worth to the charity, according to the Charlotte Observer.
The team will use the funds to repair and renovate both the arena and its parking lot, according the paper.
Oeg Arena renovation is part of the NFL’s efforts to raise money for its foundation.
The NBA’s $2.5 billion Legacy Fund, which has raised $2 billion to support sports programs and youth-serving programs, is also donating $50 million to the Oecumenical Sports Foundation, according a statement from the foundation.
The NBA also plans to create a foundation in partnership with the Charlotte Hornets that will be responsible for a new center in Charlotte, the Charlotte News & Observer reported.
